There is an old saying: the heart wants what the heart wants. It is true that the human heart is like an untamed, wild mustang roaming the range - free and proud. We may act and try to think a certain way, but our feelings are our feelings. This quality of the human heart is an admirable, wonderful and awe-inspiring thing. But, it can also fly directly in the face of the reality that is our lives. This is especially true if we have unrequited loved: loving someone without being loved back in the same way or to the same degree. But, it can also be true in another serious type of situation: when you have committed a life of marriage to one person but still have feelings for another. This is one of the worst kinds of emotional pain: to know that you are loved and wanted romantically by two people at once but that you cannot legitimately be with both of them. It is particularly hard if you are married to one of them. If you are saying to yourself, "My ex wants me back but I'm married," here what you need to do: 1. Decide whether you still love your spouse: Your spouse is - or at least at one time was - the most important person in your life. Furthermore, you made a commitment to him or her at one point in the past, so you must have loved this person. How about now? Where are your true feelings regarding your spouse? You owe it to yourself to be honest about how you really feel. 2. Decide how you really feel about your ex: Now, do the same with your ex. Look into your heart. Remember how you used to feel about this person. How many of those feelings remain there in your heart today? Would you dare to say that you still love your spouse? Are the feelings still there? 3. Look into your heart and get in touch with what you really want: Of course, in the eyes of society, it is a much better choice to stay with your spouse. And, this is the easier road. But, it may not be the right road. Only you know whom you really yearn for. 4. Learn from the best love gurus around about what to do next: Your next step is to do your research by learning from the best love gurus around. Whether you do your research online or at the library, it will be important to keep your research a secret. Remember, you are not cheating on your spouse. Rather, you are just getting your head straight about what your heart really wants. 5. Put together a plan of action: Now that you know what to do next, it is time to take action. Think about yourself 2, 3 or 5 years in the future. How will you feel about the choices you are making right now? Which course of action will make you feel the best about yourself and your life? Only you can answer that question. But, once you know the answer, make sure you put together a plan to make it a reality in your life.
