Sexless marriages are the source of a lot of marital unhappiness and solving the problem can be difficult and will need a great deal of thought before you even consider getting a divorce lawyer. A sexless marriage can: Make you feel very lonely. Damage your self-esteem and confidence. Make you feel listless and confused. Cause severe depression. You need to find out the root causes of why your marriage has become sexless when once it was romantic,loving and sexually fulfilling. Marriage without sex is bad but married sex without emotions is just as bad. Your sexless marriage could be due to a physical problem or psychological problem in which case medical advice should be sought. Here are some other possible causes for why a marriage has become sexless. (1) You are "stuck at home" while your partner works long hours When one partner is working very long hours and the other stays at home feeling ignored and lonely then it is very common for the one who stays home to vent their frustrations on their partner by avoiding sex as a type of silent protest. This can become an entrenched attitude, which is difficult to break once it has started. (2) You both work long hours. When both you and your partner have very demanding and time-consuming jobs you will rarely get the opportunity to spend time together and behave like the proverbial ‘ships that pass in the night’. The problem then is not one of loneliness and frustration for one of you but simply lack of time together which can make you drift apart emotionally and sexually. You must decide what is more important, your marriage or your work and try to find a way of re-scheduling your time so that you do not drift apart because of not seeing enough of each other. (3)Other reasons why your marriage is now sexless. You need to think of some other possible reasons for why you no longer feel sexually attracted to your partner such as: They are no longer physically attractive to you. They don't show you any emotions. They lie to you and deceive you. They are selfish and lazy. They are disrespectful and abusive toward you. They do not listen to your problems. There are lots of other reasons for a sexless marriage but all of the above can cause you to avoid sex with your partner thereby creating stress within your marriage. Marriage counseling may eventually be needed to help you find out what the problem is and help you to rediscover the intimacy you once had. If you do not address the problems in your sexless marriage then the problems could lead you into the arms of someone else… a divorce lawyer.
